Floor Design

Engineered for optimum strength with embossed, 20-gauge steel, the Shivvers Channel-Lock Floor is just another way we set ourselves apart from other in-bin dryers. Each floor consists of 8-inch planks with a modular, channel-locking design to reinforce connection points without complicating installation. These planks are further reinforced with our patented, center-rib design to distribute the grain’s weight evenly and stop the floor from sagging.

The Shivvers floor sits atop sturdy 16 gauge steel supports, strategically distributed to maximize structural reinforcement without hindering airflow. Legs snap easily into place into the rail’s channel opening. Your drying system’s rails will be configured and tied together at predetermined lengths for the right balance between airflow and support.

Standard Floor

Shivvers’ Standard Channel-Lock Floor features 23% open area to eliminate the static pressure problems often found in systems with higher grain depths or multiple types of grain. The 8-inch planks and center rib create exceptional support, especially for in-bin, continuous-flow drying and deep-depth aeration applications.  

Standard floors feature:

  • Round hole punches, .094 inches in diameter, making an open area of 23%
  • Heavy, 20-gauge flashing and installation hardware

Small Grain Floor

Shivvers also offers a small grain floor for rapeseed and other small grains. This floor is designed with an open area of 19%, using a 0.05 diameter round hole punch. The small grain floor is also used whenever ultra-high-capacity sweeps are used, as in the Dri-Flo 1000 or Hi-Torque systems.

Small grain floors feature:

  • 20-gauge, embossed-steel planks for optimum strength
  • Round hole punches, .05 inches in diameter, for 19% open area
  • Heavy, 20-gauge installation and flashing hardware

Steel Floor Supports

Shivvers 16-gauge steel supports are designed for up to 30 feet of grain (or 16 feet for Circu-Lator systems), ideal for your drying and storage bins from 18 to 60 feet in diameter. The underside rails are made with a channel to accept the support legs, which snap into place for easy installation. This narrow yet resilient design provides unimpeded airflow without channeling or obstructions.
