How Shivvers Cannabis Systems Work

Each Shivvers Cannabis Drying System is custom configured and integrated into a grain bin, effectively turning the entire structure into a comprehensive dehydration solution. Depending on your capacity requirements, Shivvers Cannabis Drying Systems are available in two sizes with options to fit 24’ and 36’ bin diameters.

System Components:

Serving as the ‘brain’ of the system, the Shivvers Command Center is a central computerized control that manages the fan & heater combination based off your pre-set specifications. Once cannabis is loaded into the drying system, simply turn on the Command Center and set to your desired drying temperature. The Command Center stays in constant communication with the heater throughout the drying process, making automatic adjustments to sustain precise temperature.

Shivvers Fan & Heater Combinations have been perfected over decades to provide unrivaled fuel efficiency and optimal heating capabilities throughout the dehydration process. Heaters feature a specially designed downstream burner with Shivvers Blue Flame Technology to maximize clean and uniform heat distribution. Shivvers expertly trained technicians will work with you to find the perfect fan & heater combination for your operation based on size, fuel, power and capacity.

As the foundation for the Shivvers Cannabis Drying System, Shivvers Channel-Lock Floors and Structural Steel Supports elevate the floor to provide a heating chamber where the air is mixed to a uniform temperature. Strategically designed perforations in the floor facilitate controlled air flow, allowing warmed drying air to rise up through the floor into the cannabis drying zone. Additionally, the raised floor creates an unloading chamber, accessible by an exterior door, allowing producers to drop dry cannabis directly into bags or onto a conveyor from the integrated floor chutes in the center of the bin.

The Spreading, Leveling & Unloading Auger takes the manual process out of loading and unloading your drying system by pivoting around the center of the system. As wet cannabis is dropped through the loading door, the auger gently draws the material inward to evenly distribute it across the drying floor. Tines from the Stirring & Decompaction Rotor also assist in spreading and leveling the cannabis. When you are ready to unload the system, the auger is re-engaged to draw dry cannabis to the unloading floor chutes. Operator controls allow for easy adjustment of direction, speed, and height, as well as pivoting the auger up and out of the way when it is not in use.

The Shivvers Decompaction Rotor sits directly opposite the Spreading, Leveling & Unloading Auger to pivot around the center of the bin. This rotor ensures consistent and uniform drying by lifting, leveling and decompressing cannabis as it naturally settles during the drying process. Powered by an electric motor, with operator control of the speed and height, the Decompaction Rotor features strategically positioned tines that rotate through the cannabis bed to loosen and turn the cannabis as it dries. This process facilitates a faster, more efficient drying process while eliminating labor.

It Works
Like This:

* US Patent No. US 11,796,251 B2

Load Drying System

Freshly harvested cannabis is loaded through a specially designed loading door.

Spread and Level Cannabis

The operator engages the Spreading, Leveling and Unloading Auger to begin drawing cannabis inward across the drying floor. The Decompaction Rotor gently lifts & levels cannabis around the circumference of the system.

Set Drying Specifications

The operator sets the desired drying temperature on the Shivvers Command Center.

Command Center Controls Drying Process

The Command Center activates the Shivvers Heater to warm the air in the plenum area created by the raised drying floor. The Command Center maintains constant communication with the heater throughout the drying process, automatically adjusting settings to match the pre-set drying specifications.

Heated Air Dries Cannabis

Warmed drying air rises up through the perforated drying floor, removing moisture as it ascends through the cannabis.  Saturated air is exhausted through roof vents.

Cannabis is Turned and Loosened

Periodically throughout the drying process, the Decompaction Rotor can be lowered to the desired depth and engaged to turn and loosen settled cannabis, breaking up any air channels that may have formed.

Unload Drying System

When the desired moisture content is achieved, the operator engages the unloading auger for cannabis to be automatically unloaded through the chutes in the drying floor.

Prevent Spoilage

Just a day of exposure to the elements can mean the difference between healthy plants and problems with mold or cannabinoid degradation. Industrial cannabis processing equipment like our dryers protects your crop from temperature swings, excess humidity and even UV damage. You know your cannabis dryer is an effective solution when it eliminates the risks of leaving plants in the field a day or two longer.
