Counter-Flow Drying
Our counter-flow drying technologies offer superb performance that will last a long time. Our DRI-FLO 500 Legacy Series dryer, for instance, offers a removal rate of up 500 bushels per hour. This type of dryer transfers the grain from the bottom of the bin.
Then, two augers bring the grain through a liner located under the bonet, where the liners restrict the flow so that an even layer of grain is drawn off the floor. The grain is then dropped into a basket where it is then picked up by the unload auger and carried to a jumpster auger, air system, or elevator leg.
One of the main advantages of this kind of grain dryer is that wet grain can be placed on top of drying grain, so you do not need a separate holding bin for the wet grain.
It gets its name "counter-flow drying" from the fact the grain and the air-flow operate in different directions.
For an even larger removal rate, the DRI-FLO 1000 offers a removal rate of up to 168,000 bushels per week.
